Telemetry Solutions has made ringtail GPS collars for three different ringtail projects. One is in San Diego, one in the Sierra foothills northeast of Sacramento and another in Oregon. Each customer gets to decide on the collar design for the ringtail. We use a sales process that will get us to the best design and we take into consideration what the customer wants. Oddly enough, in each of these 3 different studies, all of the designs were different. That is rare for any species being studied in roughly the same area. Apparently when it comes to Ringtail GPS collars, one design doesn’t fit all.
